To arrange an appointment for consultation with one of our specialists, have your doctor send a referral to the Ottawa Fertility Centre. Referrals can be made by your family doctor, gynaecologist, urologist or any other physician. If you don't have a regular doctor, you can be referred by a doctor at a walk-in clinic or medi-centre.

Consultations for patients with a valid OHIP card are paid for by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. Out-of-province patients and those without a valid OHIP card will be billed for their visit at the current Ontario Medical Association (OMA) rate.

Consultations for reversal of tubal ligation surgery are not covered by OHIP. Patients will be billed directly for their initial visit. Please refer to Tubal Ligation Reversal for further details.

How long will it take before I can see a fertility specialist?

Generally, you will be given an appointment at the Ottawa Fertility Centre within 3 to 4 weeks of receipt of a referral letter from your doctor.
